Lacy, James Horace

James Horace Lacy (1834-1852) was one of four children born to Williana Wilkinson (1806-46) and Drury Lacy, Jr. (1802-84), a Presbyterian minister and educator, who became president of Davidson College in 1855. Young Lacy grew up in Raleigh, where his father was pastor of Raleigh Presbyterian Church from 1837 to 1855. He entered the University as a sophomore in January 1851, joined the Dialectic Society, and died in Chapel Hill on September 22, 1852. He is listed among the members of the Class of 1853, evidently receiving his diploma posthumously.
